Michael Drakely

Senior Mechanical Designer

Mike began his career in the AEC industry in 1984. The first 10 years of Mike’s career included a combination of engineering and contracting, from hand drafting on mylar to estimating projects, from designing HVAC systems to managing construction projects, from engineering to project management.  Mike joined RFS in 1995 and has since progressed to one of the firm’s most senior HVAC designers.  Per Mike, “Every project is a challenge, and the success of the project is our reward.”  Outside of work, Mike’s other passion is boating. Since 2017, Mike and his wife have lived on their boat, year-round, on Boston Harbor. Their favorite expedition was a 38-day cruise from Florida to Boston in 2022. Mike has a USCG Captain’s License and plans to charter boats in his golden years. Mike’s favorite quote is from Mark Twain, who penned, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore – Dream – Discover”.
