This 150,000 sf multi-specialty medical office/ambulatory care building accommodates primary care and specialty care patients. Project design and construction focused on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) principles. The Owner-A/E-CM team was formed in concept design, and all stakeholders collaborated regarding program, cost, schedule, and project risks. The facility provides outpatient surgery, endoscopy and medical imaging, laboratory and diagnostic testing, oncology, medical offices, and support spaces.
By committing to IPD, each firm also committed to teamwork, consensus decision-making, and efficient problem-solving. An aggressive schedule requirement for project completion was met in part due to early release of building structural design, which was facilitated by RFS providing integrated structural and MEP/FP engineering. Goals for HVAC system durability and flexibility, as well as cost control and schedule compliance, were met through design of custom rooftop air handling units installed in “twin” configuration, interconnecting corridors for supporting infrastructure and service.
