As part of a redevelopment of Washington Street in West Newton, the Dunstan East development includes three mixed-use buildings, each ranging from three to six stories. The 420,000 sf development will include street-level retail, 292 housing units ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, 73 of which will be for affordable housing, and structured parking.
The project is designed to minimize its environmental impact, including all-electric heating, cooling, and domestic hot water systems, along with energy recovery ventilation for each residential unit. Structured parking areas include significant electric vehicle charging stations, with potential for future expansion of that system. The project is seeking LEED Gold Certification.
